The base formula: people × hours × rate
The starting rate is 70 MDL per hour per person. A studio move usually needs 2 people × 3 hours = 420 MDL. A two-room flat: 2 people × 5 hours = 700 MDL. A three-room flat or a small office: 3 people × 6 hours = 1,260 MDL. Transport is added on top, if you do not have a vehicle of your own.
The floor and the lift change everything
This is the detail most often left out of a request. A fourth floor with no lift can add 50% to the total time, because every item goes up and down the stairs. If there is a lift but a sofa will not fit in it, large pieces are in the same situation. State in the listing: the floor you are leaving, the floor you are arriving at, whether both addresses have a lift, and whether a van can park by the entrance.
With transport or labour only
You can book people only, if you already have a van or a friend with one. With transport included, the price rises by 400–900 MDL for a move within town, depending on volume and the number of trips. One trick that genuinely saves money: if everything fits in a single trip, say so explicitly. Two trips means almost double the travel time.
Packing is billed separately, but it pays off
Boxes, bubble wrap and tape cost 200–500 MDL for an average flat. If you pack yourself, you save that plus 2–3 hours of labour. It is worth leaving the provider only the furniture that needs dismantling and the large fragile items — one broken mirror costs more than all the wrap.
What to do with what you no longer want
Almost every move produces a pile of things that are not going any further. Bulky waste removal is a separate service, 300–600 MDL for a trip to the tip. If you ask for it in the same order as the move, it is done with the same vehicle and costs noticeably less than a separate booking the next day.
